Version 1.1 · Effective 22.09.2026 · Last updated 22.09.2026
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the services of The Grid Cook, the trade name of Dmitrii Sharonov (the "Provider"). The person who books a service is referred to as the Client. Part A applies to everything. Part B applies to in-kitchen batch-cooking sessions. Part C is reserved for future products and is not in use.
Part A. General
A1. The Provider
The Provider is Dmitrii Sharonov, a self-employed professional (autónomo) established in Spain, trading as The Grid Cook. Tax ID (NIF): Y9674448H. Address: Calle Floridablanca 66-68, Local 9F, 08015, Barcelona, España. Email: contact@thegridcook.com. Phone / WhatsApp: +34663585493. Website: https://thegridcook.com. Full identification details are published in the Legal Notice on this website.
A2. Who these Terms are for
These Terms are written for consumers: natural persons aged 18 or over who act for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Where a service is booked on behalf of a business, consumer protections may not apply, and the terms are agreed separately before the booking.
A3. How a contract is formed
Bookings are made by message, on WhatsApp or by email. A contract is formed when the Provider confirms the booking in writing, stating the date, the time, the place and the price. Because the contract is concluded at a distance, the Provider sends a confirmation message containing the essential details and a link to these Terms. That message is the Client's record of the contract.
A4. Language
These Terms are published in Spanish and in English. The Spanish version is the authoritative version; the English text is a courtesy translation. A Catalan translation is available on request at contact@thegridcook.com. Where versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
A5. Prices, payment and invoices
All prices are in euros and include VAT (IVA). Current prices are published at https://thegridcook.com/in-kitchen-sessions; the price that applies is the one published when the Provider confirms the booking. Where a cost cannot be fixed in advance, such as extra hours or a travel fee, the Provider explains how it is calculated and agrees it with the Client before the booking is confirmed. The Provider issues an invoice for every service: a simplified invoice by default, or a full invoice showing the Client's name, address and tax ID on request.
A6. Complaints and disputes
Complaints may be sent to contact@thegridcook.com or +34663585493, or by post to Calle Floridablanca 66-68, Local 9F, 08015, Barcelona, España. The Provider answers complaints as soon as possible and at the latest within 15 days. Official complaint forms of the Government of Catalonia (fulls oficials de queixa, reclamació i denúncia) are available: the Provider carries them to every session and sends an electronic copy on request. The Client may also contact the consumer office of their municipality (OMIC) or the Agència Catalana del Consum (helpline 012). The Provider is not currently a member of the consumer arbitration system. Where a complaint cannot be resolved, the Provider informs the Client which alternative dispute resolution body is competent and whether the Provider will take part.
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. A consumer may bring any claim before the courts of their own place of residence.
A7. Liability
The Provider is responsible for damage caused by the Provider's own fault or negligence in the course of providing a service. The Provider is not responsible for damage caused by circumstances outside the Provider's control, or by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the Client. Liability connected with the Client's own groceries, equipment and installations is dealt with in sections B11 and B12. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Spanish law, including the rights of the Client as a consumer.
A8. Changes to these Terms
The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page. A new version applies to bookings confirmed after its effective date. Where the Client has a weekly plan (section B9), the Provider gives notice of a change at least 15 days before it takes effect, and the Client may end the plan before that date without giving a reason. Superseded versions are kept by the Provider and are sent to the Client on request.
A9. Personal data
How personal data is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy published on this website.
Part B. In-Kitchen Batch-Cooking Sessions
B1. What the service is
An in-kitchen batch-cooking session is a visit to the Client's home during which the Provider cooks, from the Client's own groceries and in the Client's own kitchen, a set of weekly meal components, then portions, labels and packs them and cleans the work area to the Provider's standard. The food is handed over as components, together with a map of how they combine into meals; finished, plated dishes are not part of the service. What a session includes, the base duration and the current prices are published at https://thegridcook.com/in-kitchen-sessions. Anything beyond what is published, such as extra hours or a paid add-on, is agreed with the Client before the booking is confirmed.
B2. Where the Provider works
The Provider serves the municipalities of the Garraf comarca, province of Barcelona: Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Sant Pere de Ribes, Cubelles, Canyelles and Olivella. Other locations in the Barcelona area are possible on request; a travel fee, published at https://thegridcook.com/in-kitchen-sessions, then applies and is agreed before the booking is confirmed.
B3. Onboarding
Before the first session the Provider and the Client go through a short onboarding, once: household size and the ages of children in the household, allergies and dietary restrictions, foods the Client does not want, a review of the kitchen and its equipment, and the Client's preferred weekly slot. Allergy and dietary information is health data and is processed only with the Client's explicit consent, as described in the Privacy Policy and in the consent text of the onboarding form. This information must be complete and accurate: the Provider plans and cooks on the basis of what the Client provides.
B4. Weekly cycle
For each session the Provider sends the menu plan in advance, and the Client approves it or swaps one or two items. Once the plan is approved, the Provider sends the grocery list, grouped by store section. The Client arranges for the groceries to be at the home on the day before the session. On the day before, the Provider sends the kitchen-ready checklist and asks the Client to confirm the groceries; a photograph or a screenshot is sufficient.
B5. Groceries
The groceries are always the Client's. They may be obtained in either of two ways: (a) the Client buys them from the list the Provider sends; or (b) the Client uses the Provider's grocery-shopping service at the price published at https://thegridcook.com/in-kitchen-sessions. Under option (b), after the list is approved the Client transfers the estimated cost of the basket by Bizum or bank transfer; the Provider buys the groceries in the Client's name, hands over the receipt at the session, and the difference is settled. The groceries belong to the Client from the moment of purchase. If the session is cancelled after the shopping has been done, the Provider delivers the groceries to the Client and returns any surplus. The Provider never buys groceries on the Provider's own account, never adds a margin and never holds the Client's card or account details. For weekly-plan clients with at least three completed sessions, the Provider may agree to advance the cost and be reimbursed at the session.
The oils, spices and seasonings that a session consumes in small amounts are supplied by the Provider and are included in the price. Everything that enters the food in quantity, including grains, pasta, pulses, tinned goods, dairy, produce and protein, is on the Client's grocery list, together with any premium or unusual ingredient. Also not included: washing dishes left from before the visit, and swaps outside the Provider's component matrix, which are a paid add-on quoted in advance and which the Provider may decline.
B6. The kitchen and the Client's presence
Before the Provider arrives, the kitchen must be ready: clean counters, an empty dishwasher, space in the fridge and freezer, a working hob and oven, available sockets, and parking nearby. The session time starts on arrival. If the kitchen is not ready, the Provider cooks less in the same time; the duration does not change.
An adult aged 18 or over must let the Provider in and receive the hand-over at the end. By default, an adult remains in the home during the session; any other arrangement must be agreed in writing in the chat before the session. The Provider never keeps keys and does not remain in the home without an adult present unless that has been agreed in writing. If nobody is present at the agreed time and the Client cannot be reached within 15 minutes, the session counts as a no-show. For the Provider's own records, photographs of the work area are taken before and after the session, without people in them; they are not published.
B7. Payment
Payment is due after the session, on the same day, by contactless card payment, by Bizum, by bank transfer sent the same day, or through a card payment link sent by the Provider. The invoice is given with the hand-over or sent the same day.
B8. Rescheduling and cancellation of single sessions
A session may be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before its start time, by message. Where a session is cancelled less than 24 hours before its start time, or where there is a no-show, nothing is payable for that session; the Provider may, however, decline future bookings or require payment in advance. Where the Provider has to cancel, whether through illness, accident or other circumstances outside the Provider's control, a new date is offered as soon as possible, nothing is payable for the cancelled session, and any amount already paid for it is refunded.
B9. Weekly plan (standing slot)
A Client who wants a regular session may agree a weekly plan: a fixed weekday and time reserved for that Client, with no minimum duration and no minimum number of sessions. Each week follows the cycle in section B4, and the price is the same as for single sessions. A week may be skipped free of charge with at least 48 hours' notice. The Client may end the plan at any time by message with 7 days' notice and without penalty. The Provider may end it with 14 days' notice.
Because the slot is held every week, from the fifteenth day after the plan is confirmed a late cancellation, meaning less than 24 hours before the start, or a no-show carries a fee of 50 % of the base session price, added to the next invoice. The standing slot is also released: the next session is booked from the times then available, until a new standing slot is agreed. The same rules apply to the Provider: where the Provider cancels less than 24 hours before the start without a reason outside the Provider's control, the Client receives the same amount as a discount on the next session and keeps the standing slot. Illness, accidents and similar events on either side are not charged, and the session is rescheduled. After two no-shows in eight weeks the Provider may end the plan. Packages or discounts may be offered in the future; if they are, their terms will be published at https://thegridcook.com/in-kitchen-sessions.
B10. The Client's right to withdraw (14 days)
Because the contract is concluded at a distance, the Client has the right to withdraw from a booking within 14 calendar days from the day the Provider confirms it and, for a weekly plan, from the day the plan is confirmed, without giving a reason. Withdrawal is exercised by an unequivocal statement sent by WhatsApp, email or post; the model form in the Appendix may be used but is not required. The Provider acknowledges the statement without delay.
Most sessions take place within those 14 days. For that reason, when a booking is confirmed the Provider asks the Client to request expressly that the service be performed during the withdrawal period, and to acknowledge that once a session has been fully performed it can no longer be withdrawn from. Where the Client withdraws after a session has begun, an amount proportional to what has been performed is payable. Where the Provider has not obtained that express request, nothing is payable for a service performed during the withdrawal period.
Payment is due after the session, so in the ordinary case no amount has been paid in advance and there is nothing to refund. Where an amount has been paid in advance, including money transferred for the grocery-shopping service, the Provider refunds it within 14 days using the same means of payment.
B11. Food safety and allergies
The Provider cooks from the Client's groceries and in the Client's kitchen. The Client is responsible for the quality and freshness of the groceries and for how they are stored before the Provider arrives. Food is handed over labelled with its contents and date, together with storage guidance; after the hand-over, storage, reheating and consumption are the Client's responsibility. The Provider plans around the allergies and restrictions the Client has given and takes standard precautions, but a home kitchen is not an allergen-free environment and the complete absence of traces cannot be guaranteed. Any severe allergy must be notified before the service begins.
B12. Damage to the Client's property
Where the Provider damages the Client's kitchen or equipment through the Provider's own fault, the Provider repairs it or compensates the Client. The Provider is not responsible for pre-existing faults, for defects in the Client's equipment or installations, or for wear and tear of equipment during normal use.
B13. Photographs and testimonials
The Provider may ask the Client's permission to photograph the food and the kitchen for the website and social media. This is entirely optional: it is done only with prior consent, no faces and no details that identify the Client or the home are shown, and consent may be withdrawn at any time. Testimonials are published only with separate consent.
B14. Ending the relationship
The Client may stop booking at any time. The Provider may decline or end a booking or a weekly plan in the event of abusive behaviour, unsafe conditions or unpaid invoices.
Part C. Course and Software — Reserved
Reserved. No course or software product is currently offered under these Terms.
